A social engineer searches through a dumpster, and finds a Gator 1 Card!

In the most literal sense: Dumpster diving is when a social engineer searches through trash to find personal and corporate information.

They use this information to aid in a later attack. For instance, if a social engineer found a list of customer information in a company's dumpster, they could use that information to impersonate those customers – and take over their accounts.

Lots of sensitive information winds up in the trash! When dealing with sensitive documents:
Including blueprints, financial information, passwords, storage drives, IDs, and documents. Shred them, don't throw them away.Learn more about safe Media Disposal
